    Posting Youtube Videos

Seeing that alot like to post youtube videos by just adding the link kinda sucks. I know I used to do that until one time Norm jumped my ass by saying" Eagle if you don't use the embedding code I swear to the Emperors balls that I will force you to listen to Rico Suave until you get your shit together" or something to that effect. Here is the following embedding code, just make sure to change the highlighted 0's to o's. I had to do that or you would just see a white square so

    [y0utube]value[/y0utube]

The value is the bunch of numbers and letters after the equal (=) sign in the link.

    i.e

    youtube.c0m/watch?v=jmhcsuxsba11s24/7

The stuff in yellow would be the value. So there you go.

I dunno, somehow this forum base changed the code for it somehow. When I used to post videos like that and it worked just fine. Just check my "Yard Haunter" thread. But now for some reason, it doesn't here work anymore. On other YuKu based forums I post on, Youtube videos post just fine now; as here before.

A democracy cannot exist as a permanent form of government. It can only exist until the voters discover that they can vote themselves largesse from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates promising the most benefits from the public treasury with the result that a democracy always collapses over loose fiscal policy, always followed by a dictatorship. The average age of the world's greatest civilizations has been 200 years. ― Alexis de Tocqueville

I just tried to post a Youtube Gears 3 video and it wouldn't work. I went and checked some of the other videos I've posted and they are no longer there either, did the way you post Youtube videos change or can we no longer post the video and have to go back to posting the links?

Yeah it does look like all the coding for youtube no longer works. I looked it up on vbullitens website and looks like a few people are having this issue ratix will have to look in to it. How to safely allow embedded YouTube videos?

Yeah not sure about this. Youtube has changed their code. I've updated the code on our site, but with no success.

Also Cotto that thread was from 2006 you linked too

It seems no embed codes work. The one for the site I linked doesnt work, nor does Youtube's embed code. For my site it's important that I can display these videos. How can I do this?

Like stated above, you need to enable HTML to be posted in your forums/articles/blogs. This is not enabled by default because it is a security risk. It will allow people to embed invisible flash to capture username and password cookies amongst other information.

Taking your code above and not using the insert video tool, I made this article here:

As you can see the video is embedded without issue. I will not enable HTML in the forums though to show it can be done there as well but it works just fine.
But yet the link the support guy posted is a "dead" link.

Dammit Norm, How dare you use an iframe in the code. And you left a broken "t>" at the end of it.... ....

Ok sorry guys. As much as I want to try and blame this on norm.. I sadly can't. Although he did a piss poor job at trying to fix it. lol.

Almost two weeks ago I was looking for a way to post a youtube video starting at a certain point into it. Like starting it 1:30 into it. I thought I had fully tested out the BBCode, but apparently only the new way was working.

Happy Days, All is fixed Now.

Here are the new codes to post not only a YouTube video, but to start it at a certain point, and in HD.
*HD will only force 720p, not 1080p.

I'll use {} instead of [] for the examples.
