The students at Ole Miss are strongly pushing for Admiral Ackbar to become the new mascot for the Rebels. Ackbar would replace the discontinued mascot The Colonel who was abandoned in 2003 when school officials decided his image was a bit too Old South and might offend some minorities.

That's sad that the threat of being called "Racist" can force a change in such a tradition. -
That is awesome...sad that the an old tradition has to die for some PC BS...but I can't think of a better replacement!!! LMAO
