Good thing about it is most dogs don't make that mistake with a skunk again. Just hope it doesn't ruin his nose when I used to go hunting with dogs a skunk would screw their nose up.

haa haa.... Dog probably thinking, where's my food! He's already forgotten about that skunk. The only thing you can do is air out the house. It happened to me. I found ground zero behind my pool. My wife let the dog into the house and the oil must have worked its way into the steps or wall going to my basement! The smell eventually went away, but it took about two weeks. I did try odor neutralizers and scented oil but it just made it smell like skunk and whatever I was using to cover it up! Good Luck!

Just completing week 1. It still smells and I swear I catch a whiff of it on my clothes outside the house once in awhile.

...So live, that when thy summons comes to join
        The innumerable caravan, which moves
To that mysterious realm, where each shall take
His chamber in the silent halls of death,
Thou go not, like the quarry-slave at night,
Scourged to his dungeon, but, sustained and soothed
By an unfaltering trust, approach thy grave
Like one who wraps the drapery of his couch
About him, and lies down to pleasant dreams.

To add to this...my sister and husband have 2 German Shepherds. One evening they smelled something weird....like burning rubber. They walked thru their house and couldn't find the origin. Eventually they called the Fire Dept. Before the Fire Dept arrived, they put the dogs in one of their cars that were in the garage. When the Fire Dept arrived they they too walked thru the house...finally one of the guys said "I know that is, it's SKUNK". My sister and husband were so embarrassed but at the same time were like oh fuck since for the last half hour they were in their car. That car was funked up for weeks!!! BTW...coffee grounds...takes away the odor.

A democracy cannot exist as a permanent form of government. It can only exist until the voters discover that they can vote themselves largesse from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates promising the most benefits from the public treasury with the result that a democracy always collapses over loose fiscal policy, always followed by a dictatorship. The average age of the world's greatest civilizations has been 200 years. ― Alexis de Tocqueville

You have to fight oil with oil. Incense wont do it. Use a cologne in the form of an oil and burn it using an oil burner.

The aroma from the oil of your choice is strong also, and will permeate into its surroundings. This may weaken the smell of the skunks oil by about a further 90%. It just might take a few days or so.

Holy shit ND. That sounds terrible. I wonder if you can claim this on insurance and get all new carpet and furniture?

                APAT...

First, I miss gaming with you. Second, I hope all is going well in RL for you. Third, If I could claim it on insurance I would as the carpet and couch could be replaced regardless if they smell like skunk. The couch smells like ass as it is in my man cave. LOL.

It still smells but it is getting better. Others here say it takes a while and its been a week. So we will see.

I miss you guys too. RL is good. Things are going well with the job and GF. Life is slowing down for me again so I've been browsing gaming equipment... namely a PS4, headset and TV for my office / gaming room. I'll be seeing you guys online again soon!
