ABC News Report
What other wrestlers died recently? I wonder if that caused him to just lose it and do this?
Like I said in the shouts I wonder if this is Gods way of saying to Vince you've taken this crap too far pretending to be dead.

Oh I agree, He had ratings pretty high with these antics. He was loving it. I'm so saddened by Benoit's death but the timing of this happening was perfect, because vince is such an a$$hole and I would love to see his life miserable. Talk all around news was about "Vince's death". And he was gaining high ratings for it.
I'm also glad XFL flopped.

Yea I thought it was pretty dumb of Vince to go about making a storyline of himself getting killed in a car explosion.
as for Benoit;Alot of folks are staying this was roid rage, but others are saying something isn't clear about the whole case at all.<a href="http://s11.photobucket.com/user/dsaBOSS/media/mui_sig_zpsdfb059b2.png.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a178/dsaBOSS/mui_sig_zpsdfb059b2.png" border="0" alt=" photo mui_sig_zpsdfb059b2.png"/></a><a href="http://psnprofiles.com/XxkamuixX1"><img src="http://card.psnprofiles.com/1/XxkamuixX1.png" border="0"></a>Comment

Web Time Stamps Indicate Nancy Benoit's Death Reported on Web at Least 13 Hours Befor
How about this latest headline?!!
Source: http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,287194,00.html
Originally posted by Fox News
An anonymous user operating a computer traced to Stamford, Conn. — home to World Wrestling Entertainment — posted an entry to pro wrestler Chris Benoit's biography on Wikipedia.org announcing the death of his wife Nancy at least 13 hours before police in suburban Atlanta said they found her body along with her husband's and that of their 7-year-old son, FOXNews.com has learned.
Employees at Wikipedia.org said the posting went live on their site on Monday at 12:01 a.m. Eastern Standard Time. Police, however, said they found the bodies Monday at 2:30 p.m. EDT.
The posting reads: “Chris Benoit was replaced by [[Johnny Nitro]] for the ECW Championship match at Vengeance, as Benoit was not there due to personal issues, stemming from the death of his wife Nancy.” According to a Wikipedia.org report published after FOXNews.com made inquiries, the edit was reversed just under one hour later with the comment:
"Need a reliable source. Saying that his wife died is a pretty big statement, you need to back it up with something."
The posting apparently was made in reference to Benoit's scheduled appearance on Sunday night at an Extreme Championship Wrestling event in Texas.
An employee from Wikipedia.org told FOXNews.com that he called and left a message with investigative authorities in Fayetteville, Ga., at around 11 a.m. EDT on Tuesday, after the posting was brought to the attention of the St. Petersburg, Fla.-based Web site.
“I chat with other editors on IRC — Internet relay chat — and somebody pointed it out to me on a relay chat and that it came from a Stamford connection, and that it took place at midnight Eastern Standard Time on Monday morning,” said Wikipedia.org volunteer coordinator Cary Bass. “I called and left a message with the police department.”
The computer-generated time and date stamp of the Benoit entry are listed as 4:01, 25 June 2007. Wikipedia.org lists its entries according to Universal Time, also known as Greenwich Mean Time.
Further investigation, according to Wikipedia.com, shows that one hour after the first edit reversion, another anonymous edit by 125.63.148.173 using unwiredAustralia.com.au, a wireless Internet service provider, was made adding about the aforementioned personal issues: "which according to several pro wrestling websites is attributed to the passing of Benoit's wife, Nancy."
That edit was reverted less than 20 minutes later, with the following comment: "Saying 'several pro wrestling websites' is still not reliable information." The second edit was made by a computer in Australia from a wireless network, according to Wikipedia.org.
A message left by FOXNews.com with Lt. Tommy Pope of the Fayette County Sheriff’s Department was not immediately returned.
Investigators so far have ruled the Benoit killings as a double homicide-suicide.
Wikipedia.org claims to be one of the largest reference Web sites, and is written collaboratively by users from around the world. Approved users can make submissions and change entries that are posted on the site almost immediately. Bass said the site is constantly monitored to correct inaccuracies.
Bass said when there is a high-profile case, such as the Benoit killlings, Wikipedia.org limits postings to registered users, which is now indicated at the top of the Benoit entry. According to the listed history on the Benoit entry, the computer used to post the 12:01 a.m. entry had a Stamford, Conn., Internet Protocol — or IP — address, a numeric designation that is assigned to every computer with an Internet connection, and that same address has been used to post about a dozen other messages on the site, dating back to May 16, 2007.
In related news, FOXNews.com also has learned, through widely posted Web reports, that former pro wrestler Sherri Martel, who was found dead on June 15, was linked to former wrestler Kevin Sullivan — ex-husband of Nancy Benoit.
Click here to read more about the death of Sherri Martel.
Martel, who had a reputation as one of the top managers in pro wrestling, was found dead at her mother’s home in near Birmingham, Ala., on June 15. She was 49.
Investigators, who have not yet determined Martel's cause of death, say foul play is not suspected but that Martel did not die of natural causes.Comment

Turned out Benoit's child had a rare form of retardation. I think he might not have been able to handle the pressure of a special needs child, and he snapped due to roid rage. Interesting note that he set a bible next to his wife and child after he killed them, before hanging himself with his gym equipment.

Its a shame that this is what Chris Benoit is going to be rememberd for, Ive seen him wrestle 20 times at least and from what I had seen it was hard to believe. He was such a great wrestler and seemingly a great person, I dont know what caused him to do something like that but I dont think it was rage, he did it over the course of the weekend, sending text messages to fellow wrestlers about where to find him. I want to remember him for the great wrestler he was, the match the he and Bret Hart had on Nitro the night after Owen died was a classic and damn near brought a tear to my eye, no entrance music or story lines. Im glad I got to see him at Wrestlemania 23, that will be something I will always remember.

Well it sure wasn't Roid-joy, or Roid-happiness that did this to him. If things were troubling him, roid-rage could have pushed him over the edge. In the tribute on mon, the one constant that everyone was saying besides him being a machine in the ring was, Chris kept to himself and was very quiet. He was probably dealing with mental pain for a long time, and very depressed.
Also it turns out his Wikipedea bio, was updated at 12:00 am sunday morning, citing that he couldn't make the PPV because his wife was dead. The police didn't find the bodies or have a press release til monday.

from watching Court tv i learned a few new things. His son had a condition called fragile X. which includes alot of little this inclusing autism and adhd.
His son was also about to start school.. which would have brought out the condition to the public... Chris was described as keep things to himself.. perhaps the soon-to-be public knowledge of his son was too much, coupled with the wife probably nagging him to stay home to assist in the upbringing of the child... turned him into a real life HEEL.... ok sorry bad analogy...Last edited by LvDevilsFan; 06-30-2007, 02:40 AM.<img src=http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y11/CaDevilsFan/Banner.bmp>Comment

Umm...maybe it is just me, but it seems like the posts here are really glossing over the tragedy that has occurred here. Roid rage is a fit of rage--Rage is unlikely to happen over several days. This dude is simply a murderer. I don't give a crap if he was a good wrestler or whatever. He killed his child. He killed his wife. That is all he should be remembered for. He took the lives of two human beings---one who was very early in his life.
If this happened in another sport, the villification would be off the charts. Rae Carruth could have been the devil himself the way he was seen after his attempts to kill his girlfriend and unborn child. Why does Benoit not get nearly the level of venom? You're the best! Around! Nothings gonna ever keep you down!

I somewhat agree with you Zabka. I must say that most of these posts were put up here before too much was know about the situation and details were still coming out. I know as I found out more and more and it looked like he did this instead of some intruder, which was my first thought, my thoughts and feelings about the whole situation changed.
I think one reason he hasn't gotten the "venom" is cause he actually did this. You mention Rae Carruth whom attempted, where Benoit was successful, then killing himself. That instantly changed the situation to a tragedy in most of the peoples eyes instead of a heinous crime, hence the "glossing over".
Roid Rage? Maybe. He could've killed them on Friday, then after he came down (not sure how long it takes you to come down off of steroids), realized what he had done and killed himself on Sunday after not being able to find a way out. I can picture it going something like this, he went crazy arguing with his wife, tied her up and strangled her, the kid saw and was screaming and crying, he grabs the kid and choke holds him. Several hours later after he has calmed down, realizes "Oh **** what have I done?" I think he was confused about what to do, therefore all the phone calls with WWE. Eventually he decides to place Bibles by their bodies, sends those text messages, then kill himself. (Damn I gotta quit watching Law and Order)
WWE has all but erased him from their website, and are no longer selling his DVD.
From Wikipedia
WWE cancelled the scheduled three hour long live RAW show on June 25, and replaced the broadcast version with a tribute to his life and career, featuring his past matches, segments from the Hard Knocks: The Chris Benoit Story DVD, and comments from wrestlers and announcers.[7] The next night, before their ECW broadcast, WWE aired a recorded statement by Vince McMahon hinting towards regret for the previous night's special and stating that Benoit's name would not be mentioned other than during McMahon's comments. The WWE also removed all tributes and comments concerning Chris Benoit from their official website and later removed news articles about the deaths and their preceding events. Benoit's profile has also been removed from the roster of superstars on the WWE website. WWE.com has all but deleted his name from all of his title reigns on their Title Reigns page. His DVD Hard Knocks: The Chris Benoit Story is no longer sold on the WWE Shopzone website. Silvervision, a WWE video/DVD distributor based in the United Kingdom has been ordered by the WWE to stop selling it as well. On the July 3 edition of ECW, they played the ECW World TItle match from Vengeance but edited out any of the commentator's comments about Chris Benoit. It's also been suggested that all Benoit content has been removed from WWE 24/7. Whether or not the ban on Benoit will extend to future WWE DVD releases is not yet known. The DVD is now in high demand; sellers from Amazon.com have been offering as much as $150 for it.sigpicComment

RDaug, you are probably right--and the fact that he is dead makes it less of a case where people are looking for vengeance. If OJ had killed himself, I don't know if it would have been quite the circus that it was. Jealous rage/roid rage...both are driven by autonomic fight/flight responses which are uncontrolled. But people seem to think the roid rage thing makes it "not his fault" and that he was otherwise "a good guy." I completely disagree. Crimes of passion are crimes nonetheless. Somebody whacked out on crack killing somebody is just as bad to me as someone sober.
But whenever I hear of a violent crime where the perpetrator is dead, I still express anger towards his/her actions and the injustice of it all. Roids were his decision. I don't like to ever judge another peson as I can't possible know everything they were going through. However, as a father of a young child, I hope this dude rots in Hell or the equivalent of it. No child deserves to die at the hands of his own father. You're the best! Around! Nothings gonna ever keep you down!
