When a gun blows up in your face...

So my Dad, my friend from the Navy, my friend's bro (14 yrs old), and myself went to the shooting range before New Year's to try the guns my friend brought for his visit (Carbine) and my Dad and I wanted to try the Beretta pistol for some time now. All went well until I was up to fire the Carbine. I fired one shot, then pulled the trigger again and the gun wasn't firing...turns out my friend let his bro put the bullets in the magazine and he put one wrong bullet in there. We fixed the problem, nothing dangerous happened. We moved on to shooting the Beretta and the bullet got jammed in the chamber and jumped back at my face and almost hit my eye...turns out my friend's bro put the the wrong bullets in the ENTIRE clip (holy fuck we were pissed because we had to check all of our ammo again but safety always comes first). After that mess everything was fine and it was fun shooting the Carbine and firing the Beretta. We were glad nothing serious happened and talked about how it could have been much worse.

We were getting our stuff together and ready to leave until the guy that was firing next to us had his gun EXPLODE in his face. My friend and I let the manager know what happened and checked out the damage. Nobody was hurt but that guy's gun was DESTROYED. The guy surprisingly didn't get hurt from the blast and we noticed pieces of the gun everywhere (a piece of it penetrated the wooden side of his area and managed to hit my friend's shoulder ). Turns out the guy was using an old school rifle (musket and gun powder) and it might have exploded due to too much powder but nobody really knows why it happened (it was sad to hear the guy got the rifle for Christmas and this was his first run with it lol). Other than that it was a great day lol. Best of all...I've got pics!

Yours truly firing the Carbine and my friend recording my run with his iPhone:

Wow man I'm glad that you and your friends are ok, Sad to hear that the guy next to you lost his gun. But it sounds like fate was playing a bit of Russian Roulette and I'm glad it was no body's turn.

PS you should always load your own gun and or check it if you haven't. That is if it's not loaded by and expert.

What a mess, I have a old mussel loader over the fireplace, I do not think I want to try now for sure!

Been wanting to get a rifle for awhile now, maybe a handgun too, just something to mess around with at the range.

Better that the guy lost his gun and not his face. He was definitely lucky that he wasn't injured and we were lucky that nothing like that happened when we were firing guns with the wrong bullets.
