DUde I've said this a million times and so has most of the Developers for the PSP........It's the lack of games and INterest from SOny itself that has killed the PSP.

The Hacker are what have kept it alive..........I'm still waiting for the SOny GPS they said they were giving us.......no interest that's what killed it .....plus to make a decent game on it you would need more than 1.2 gig of space on a damn disc.

We'll just have to see when this new Gaming engine comes to the psp.

That was awesome rage!!!..Geohot broke their code and has the newest "downgrade" installed. with Linux still running !!! :D That's great !!!

This last "update" was an insult to every single PS3 phat owner. And tell me this, if the slim doesn't even have an add different OS on it, why did they also have to install this insult ?. Sony handled this situation just so wrong.

Now maybe with this new trick rage, you can install Linux back on your machine now.

I've been shown a way I can bypass the updates, and get online again, but I'll still not be able to buy any new games or BD movies. *Sighs* I'll have to try it out this week. ;)

What's strange is that on the European Sony blogs, they have been responding, but here on the US blogs, 7000 posts, and not even 1 reply.

Eric Lempel says on every single video he makes.."We look forward to your feedback".

Riiiiiiight. Sure you do. By ignoring us.

Now that's what I call customer service !

People like myself having been getting tired of Sony and their "forceware" for quite some time now. And it seems this last one was the straw that broke the camels back for alot of folks. I mean really, the PS3 web browser doesn't even work for Sony's own websites. Sony's answer to their forceware is always blackmail. "Update, or you can't use 75% of your machines functionality.

Like I said before, so Sony's answer to me since I refuse to update and ruin my machine, is to remove any chance of me giving them my money.

      Huh ??.

      Wow.

That's really showing me huh?. LOL !!!

Push me into buying a 360. Yep, that's showing me who's the boss of what I buy in good faith. Over a lifecycle of a media rig, to keep up the life of a product, you keep adding features, not remove them from legal, law abiding customers who bought a product, expecting it to do what it was advertised to do.

Imagine if you bought a car with a CD player in it. And the car's manufactuer decided that you might be playing pirated music on it. So they then decide to make a recall to remove your CD player, and if you don't comply with it, you can't drive your car anymore. You "can" keep your CD player, but they lock down your car. Would you as a customer accept that ? Really? After they said they wouldn't remove the CD player? How this is legal baffles me.

      PS3.
      It only does....
      Somethings.
(That we allow it to do, after purchase. Oops. Sorry if you're pissed off, we don't care. Really, we don't.)

Unless I see a major change in Sony's customer service (Yeah...LOL, riiight), I will not ever buy another Sony product ever again. And now, I'm not alone. If I had a time machine, I would go back and buy an X-Box.

Granted, I hate MS, but at least I don't see them removing features off their system. I know they're not perfect, far from it, and they've had their fair share of problems too. But I've never seen MS openly insult their customers like this. "If you have Linux, you're a hacker and could break our machine, You're a potential criminal, so we MUST remove it from you".

In the Military, we called this a "blanket punishment". As it covers not only the "bad" people, but everyone. And it is wrong. It's like saying since you have a firearm, you might do something bad with it, so we'll make ALL firearms illegal. It's not going to stop the hackers from cracking the PS3. But it is going to keep Linux out of the hands of thousands of law abiding people that just want another OS, that never once did anything wrong.

And Sony's probably wondering why thousands of people are bitching about it.

      *Sighs*

When will they learn, when will they finally start listening to what their customers want, or need?

      When...?

I use it to surf the internet when I don't feel like booting up my PC, but what I don't get is that if you installed Linux on your PS3 it wasn't even that cool. You didn't get as much memory or hard drive space that would have made it real cool and since you couldn't have that stuff it was just a waste of time anyways so what is the deal with them removing it?

Seriously, what do you even want to do with Linux on your PS3? use the internet? You can do that without it. Transfer files? You can do that with a USB hard drive that is cheap as balls. Listen to music? You can put music on the PS3 without Linux. The only thing that has been presented to me as a bonus is that you can run emulators of regular nintendo crap. Honestly, this is 2010, it's time to upgrade to better graphics then fucking regular nintendo. And if your that pressed to play that crap, then do it on your PC. Honestly, if you are trying THAT hard to put Linux on something, you probably already have a PC, so who gives a shit, really.

          @Prophet

What would be the point of coming out with a multiplayer game for the PSP? It's a waste of time anyways with all the hacks. Notice how they stopped coming out with games when the system got hacked.

            @ Broc

They stopped coming out with games at launch. Developers realized there is no market for this console cuz Sony gave it too little support plus you had to purchase the damn conversion software to get any files on it and even that sucks.

Linux still had plenty of potential but Sony was being a dick and ignored the pleas of it's clients and Linux developers. Like Geohot says these are features Sony can just turn on and off.

They said they would deliver other non gaming software but they pulled a PSP flop locked everyone out and now act like they are doing it for the security of the players. Yeah sure. Once again Sony is choking on its own words.

A democracy cannot exist as a permanent form of government. It can only exist until the voters discover that they can vote themselves largesse from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates promising the most benefits from the public treasury with the result that a democracy always collapses over loose fiscal policy, always followed by a dictatorship. The average age of the world's greatest civilizations has been 200 years. ― Alexis de Tocqueville

I'll tell you right now if I could I would exercise this right immediately cuz my console no longer works as advertised. I hope this does get out of hand and hope Sony craps their pants when it happens...

as for the question at the bottom I blame Sony.....they could of just patched the damn thing but they wanted to go the lazy way out. I hope it cost them.
