    PS3 Mics

    Now I haven't had a pleasant time with using mics on the PS3. For some reason Sony stopped believing in mute buttons and the quality Logitech mic I tried to use for the PS3 has the volume too low.

    Is there any way to fix the volume so that I can hear people better? That has been one of my outstanding issues with using a mic on the PS3 thus far.

      Set your mic level to 3 and you'll hear much better.

      I don't know what you mean with the mute buttons. My old PS2 mic had one and pretty much every recent Sony mic (BT, USB or Stereo) has a mute button.

          I've tried lowering my mic volume but it's greeted out and I can't figure how to fix it.

              I don't really have any issues with my newest BT mic it's the PS3 official 7.1 virtual surround. It's nice and I can control how high or low I want the voice over the game audio.

              Mui sounds like you have a crappy mic. I've got a beatdown logitec Broc gave me and that still works pretty well.

                  Hmmmm. Isn't the speaker volume(ie the stuff you hear) controlled by the headset itself? I know your input(ie the stuff you say) volume is adjusted with the technique Boss posted.

                      The mic is actually really good Rage. I brought it recently for a fair price. It works very well on the PC with good volume levels.

                      BOSS, My brother had a crappy PS3 mic that had no button to mute so I wound up buying one for myself that had a mute button and that was compatible with a PC. I'll try what you posted.

                          Yes the headset controlled the volume itself.
