    New Computer Build- -(POST)

So yesterdayy I finally finished up building my computer after pulling my hair somewhat.
.Figured out why my monitor wasn't getting a signal
    - RAM wasn't in recommended slots for two
    -CPU wasn't placed properly

So here is my current situation'
    - My computer starts , does the POST with one beep and goes to windows boot manager, As it tries to load up windows 7, as soon as the splash icon appears the computer restarts.I'm going to look it over again when I get, but I was wondering if anybody ever went through the same situation before when they built themselves a new computer.

Boot Manager form HDD or Win7 Install DVD? If from HDD, is it a fresh win7 install or did you just swap in your old harddrive with existing windows 7 on it?

Then that will be the problem. You can't just swap the old HDD into a new computer and have it work. All the hardware settings, drivers, and configurations that get setup during the windows installation aren't matching up to the new hardware, so the computer shits itself.
You would have to use the Windows 7 DVD to boot from and do an in-place upgrade (repair install basically), so it can reconfigure for the new hardware settings.

Yeah if you put in a new motherboard you gotta use a new harddrive unless the motherboard is exactly the same as the old one.
