    Boss, I'm not a tech guy...hell just ask Ratix lol. However I have DSL and recently got upgraded. When they upgraded it they had to wait until the lines outside were changed. Then they gave me a NEW router/modem. They hooked it up and everything is great. Much better then before I might add.

    Just my two cents.

      Oh ... one thing I forgot to mention. I disabled uPNP on the playstation. Looks like your router has the ability to do uPNP. This is one area I believe was an issue for me. Go to your network settings and leave all else on auto and disable uPNP.

        and ... and ... disable any services not needed on the router. Don't do everything at once. This way you can revert back in case you encounter any adverse effects. If you're not using IPv6 just disable. Looks like you have a nice little router there with a lot of bells and whistles. Let me know if you have any questions.

          @Norm: I set it to bridge mode last night, but my internet wouldn't work. Had to switch back to DHCP.

          @Hecx: Are you sure about disabling upnp? I haven't tried that yet, but I did manually forward my ports awhile back and upnp is still enabled just in case.

          I kept on getting a PSN error last night: 8002AD36 and did some research on it, but no solid fixes. Then, this morning, I got 80710102 and couldn't sign in to PSN at all. However, I did find a fix for that and so far I'm still signed in. Going to try to get some games in to see if I get disconnected or get an error message.

            Yes. I'm sure. Mine is still disabled and I have no issues with ports. I don't access my PS3 from any other device and no devices use my PS3 for media. Worst case scenario you turn it back on. Verify your router's firmware is up to date. There's normally a button you can click to check for new software versions.

              Not getting any errors now, but when playing BF3 I get the "lost connection to session" BS. I'll try disabling upnp, might be interfering with the ports like you said. At least that's the only thing that would make sense.

                Tried disabling upnp and still getting connection lost to session. Even checked for firmware updates on my router and modem, but it's updated. Running out of ideas...

                  UPDATE

                  I disconnected my Netgear router and put everything directly into my new modem/router and forwarded the ports (for BF3, PSN, etc). I even set another static IP for my PS3. I'm not getting the "lost connection to session" message on BF3 anymore...instead I keep getting error 8002AD36 every now and then which kicks me off PSN. Any fix for this? I've searched it up and haven't seen a solid solution that I haven't already done. At this point I have upnp disabled, all the right ports forwarded to the right IP, and a new static IP for my PS3.

                  Any feedback on this would be greatly appreciated.

                    Yeah ... but here is the kicker. If you go the option to do the auto updates for the PS3, it will connect to the internet, says you'll need PlayStation plus and then disconnects from the network. Also is your system connected to a receiver? Mine is and I'm thinking that the HDMI with ethernet could also be causing an issue. HDMI with ethernet lets you connect multiple devices via the HDMI cable but use the ethernet connection of one device. I'm going to test it out tonight after I get some me time. My receiver and my PS3 each have their own wired connection.

                      Bridge mode is always a pain in the ass and can be tricky, especially with DSL modems. Bridge mode is essentially for when 2 or more routers are on the network. 2 devices running DHCP service will cause issues. Seeing as your DSL modem is the actual modem, no outside lines connecting to netgear, it HAS to be the DHCP server. So you would set the netgear to bridge mode, or disable DHCP service as it's called on most now a days.
                      So you did the best thing you could by just bypassing it and using the router/modem by itself. Unless you needs extra ports, bridging it not necessary.

                      But for your current issue, as you seemed to have the other stuff sorted out, check your DSL/modem when those errors occur. Are the lights blinking like it was just turned back on?
                      I used to have DSL, and when cable was still new, liked it better then cable. It's usually steady like fios, granted LOT less bandwidth, but steadier then cable was. My SWBFI&II days were all DSL I think.
                      There might be a timeout or lease time setting that is being reached, and reconnecting the DSL connection. Or some sort of Keep Alive, or lease time option you can set. If you check you WAN IP before it happens, when you first get on. Then check your WAN IP after it happens, see if the IP is different. If so, then it's the Modem disconnecting for some reason and reconnecting periodically. Then one of the options I mentioned above might be the cause.

                        Here are two additional ports listed on my firewall. 3659 and 9000 is for Ubisoft. I didn't see these listed on their community website.

                          Still getting that error, so I went ahead and called Sony and my ISP. Besides both of them wanting to point fingers at the other, it turns out the line that goes directly to my ISP is what they call "very unstable" since upgrading my internet. They're sending someone to fix it tomorrow and they damn well better. I'm getting sick of worrying when I'm going to get kicked off of PSN.

                          Thanks for feedback guys. I'll let you know when this finally gets taken care of.

                            Cool. This weekend I ran a new line for my PS3. This run is CAT6 from end to end, including CAT6 patch cords. I have everything back to it's original settings, except for media services, which has always been off. So far so good. I've shutdown the system several times and I've been able to log into PSN each and every time. I, like you, don't know why this started to happen. I know my PS3 can do a (1) Gbps connection, but don't know if crosstalk was the issue in my case. I thought I had Cat5e cable, but turns out it was regular CAT5. Hopefully the replacement cable will fix your connection issues. Good luck.

                              So it turns out the problem is with my new modem. Little did I know, this modem has been known to have issues as my technician stated...yet they carry this piece of shit as the standard (knowing that it has problems). I even checked reviews on this modem and haven't read anything good about it. Read several cases of people having problems with it while gaming. They're sending me a new modem, which I should have gotten today, but turns out it will only get here tomorrow.

                              If this doesn't fix things, I'm dropping my ISP like a bad habit. The best part was when I called them about my issue with the PS3, the asshole on the phone said "why does losing connection to the PS3 make a difference if you can connect to the internet?" I wanted to bitch slap the guy through the phone when I heard that. :bitchslap:

                              The only reason why I'm putting up with them is because everything worked fine before, but my patience is growing thin with their stupidity and lack of common sense...especially when I heard about the modem. I'll let you guys know how it goes tomorrow if I get my new modem.
