we 360 owners have seen the $100 wireless thing for our system. What i wanna know is if I can use a USB wireless receiver that attaches to my pc and use it on my 360 instead so i can go wireless. Or do i have to fork over a c note to M$?

360 Wireless.

Taco, the wireless thing does work well.
I think that other wireless receivers can work, but can be more challenging. I know if you do a google search that there is a way to use a laptop's wireless card for the 360. I read that before. a PC wireless card, I am not so sure of unless you can plug into it with an ethernet cable.
What i have found from various resources was that some stuff worked and some didn't. I tried the netgear powerline adapters (not wireless, uses your house's electrical wiring to pass the signal) and found that the version I had (you had to look at the Ser # to know) would not support gaming. I went through weeks of 3rd tier support to find this out. However, I have a friend with a Belkin power line adapter that works for his gaming needs. Go figure.
I bought a Linksys wireless gaming adapter for wireless use of my PS2. It is LIVE compatibile so when I still had my PS2, I would just switch cables between the two. That was the best thing. I think it costs a bit less than a C note. You're the best! Around! Nothings gonna ever keep you down!

The PS3 that I own has the built in wireless and runs beautifully plus I don't have to mess with running a wire. I had bought a couple of linksys PS2 gaming adapters for me and Rdaug but I couldn't get mine to work. Rdaug was able to get his working properly. My wifes little punk cousins had me set their wireless 360 at their house and it works fine, every once in a while you get some lag but it's rare. So it really depends on what you want. Some say go hardline while others say wireless is your best bet, but in the end it's your currency being spent.

Hell yeah and I still us it to this day on my PS2. I moved my desktop in my bedroom for a while and plugged that linksys adapter to it, and my pc picked it up and it worked. It does say it will work with the original Xbox on it. I think Eagle found it for like $25.00 or so on Ebay. Heres one place advertising it for $23.40. HERE Again I have no idea if it would work for you, but it might be worth trying out for the price. I haven't had any problem using it, and haven't experienced any more lag than normal with SWBF lol. I know thats a rather weak argument, but its all I got. Actually my lag seems to be not as bad as before. Maybe its the new servers or something, or less players or maybe I just don't get on as much as I use to.
Linksys WGA11B 2.4GHz 802.11b Wireless-B Game Adapter

Yes its Wireless-B and not the new G that has since came out, but that crap is expensive :osigpicComment

I have the linksys wireless G--so long as your wireless modem supports the G mode, it'll work. It is xbox live compatible, so it works no problems. If you are switching back and forth between the Ps2 and 360, sometimes you have to run the connection test, but otherwise it works like a charm. You're the best! Around!
