Trust me, no one is more anxious to get this done than I am. I have spent a lot of money on this. I have the pirate ships, a pirate cove, lots of vehicles, lots of sets, buildings, and a ton of figures. And an awesome camera.

My fave so far has to be the DSA barracks though (Thank you Daz, you rule. Thank you for helping me with that !! ) I can't wait for you guys to see it. The major problem with this is trying to find the props in the proper scale, besides going to a dollhouse store. Try to find a toilet in 1/18th scale.... It's not easy. Everything I find is either too small, or too damn big. It's been a right challenge, but an enjoyable one.

I did indeed go shopping for a decent program, but everything was either just for making cheap crap like calendars, flyers, or business cards; or really expensive as Hell. I cannot believe that they are charging $3000.00 for Adobe now. Who in Hell has that kind of money..???!!!, that is besides businesses.

So like I said, a kind fellow DSA brother has volunteered to make a "copy" ("Ahem" ;) ) of Adobe and Corel for me. MS Paint is just too primitive for the special effects that I want to do.

When I finish this, I want it to be perfect. I could rush some things out, but I'd rather not settle for that. You guys and gals deserve the best. I have talked to Boss about helping me, but I don't want my project to become his burden, or obligation.

When I finish this up, I want it to be done right. So even against my own wishes, I've had to wait.

I have all these vehicles, props, sets, and figures; and I can't do anything with them. Very frustrating for me.

I was sooo pissed off when I missed getting one of these. We only got in four, and they sold way faster than I expected them to. (As they were rather expensive, I thought I'd have more time) I was waiting for payday, and by the time I got my check cashed, they were all gone. I wasn't happy. Not at all.

But when I came in today, I saw someone had returned one, so I literally snatched it up. As I posted before, this set is selling for $80.00 on Amazon at the very least.
    Now I have one..YaY !!! :D

As to date I've picked up 10 more extra sets and vehicles for this project. The only thing holding me back was finding the right graphics proggy for it. I've come to decide that Gimp is just too complicated for what I want to do. In my opinion, the only way I could become honestly proficient in it, would be to literally take classes to properly learn to use it.

I was talking about Gimp on Christmas day with a close friend who is also a fellow graphic artist, and he really disliked Gimp, saying that it's a damn shame, because it's truly a "Hollywood movie grade" proggy, but like Boss said, it's just too damn complicated to use unless you have a expert at it teach you truly how to use it.

It's really frustrating, because it's such an awesome proggy. But as I said before, if you want to snap down a line for bullet fire and so on, there is nothing to tell you how to do it besides Youtube vids. Which really bothers me because I'm not a dumb ass at this. Graphic arts was my major in High School, and I went to a commercial art college after I got out of the military, just to focus on computer art, graphics, and design.

I understand how to use layers, hues, tints, values, pixel widths, variants and gradients, and so on. The problem is that Gimp doesn't show you how to use them in their program. It just leaves you to try and find out on your own thru trial and error. You try and do something, and it won't let you, and it doesn't tell you why, or what you need to do. It just won't let you do it.

A fellow DSA member has volunteered to download the latest Coreldraw and Adobe for me, so I could use them. He's so far downloaded one, and not yet the other, so that's all I'm waiting on to get this finished.

It's been really aggravating to me to have all these toys, props, and sets done; and the only thing holding me back is getting a user friendly graphics program to get this going.

Sure I can help out, Des.

I know GIMP takes the simplest things and makes them complicated. That's why I never looked back when I picked up CS6. Looking forward to seeing what you came up with.

    Happy days !! w00t !!!

My store just got in an early shipment of the Power Team elite toys, and we alreay have a pretty damn good selection, but none of the jets or Heli's yet.

But we did get in the big playset:

The actual playset comes with a lot of figures, accesories, and vehicles.
One guy online was trying to sell one for...well Hell, just see for yourself:

    [ame="http://www.amazon.com/Word-Peacekeepers-Battlefield/dp/B002DKMOAO/ref=sr_1_21?s=toys-and-games&ie=UTF8&qid=1380684027&sr=1-21&keywords=power+team+elite"]http://www.amazon.com/Word-Peacekeepers-Battlefield/dp/B002DKMOAO/ref=sr_1_21?s=toys-and-games&ie=UTF8&qid=1380684027&sr=1-21&keywords=power+team+elite[/ame]

Yeppers, the exact same playset we have in my store for $35.00.
One slob wants $90.00 for just one of the Heli's we sell for $25.00.

Boss, I might take you up on the offer for your help, as Gimp is just so user unfriendly. I might just take the pics, and send them to you for the effects, and then I'll add the text and word balloons, if your offer still stands, that is. I don't want to impose on you.

I could've just done all of this just a few pics at a time, but I'd reallly like to finish one project and post the whole thing up at once, that, or at least break them down to a few segments, so that way everyone can enjoy a group at a time; rather than just piccy a week.

Thanks again to RaTix for allowing me a larger file image load, I really appreciate that. Thank you sir. :D

Once I can get these last few vehicles and such that I've been waiting for, I can finally get this done, finished, and posted. Not having the jets has really held me back on this.

I've been offered a new management job, and if this works out, I'll finally be making some decent money, rather more than just 12 work hours a week, and I'll be able to finish this up.

God bless you all, RaTix, and the DSA. :D

I'll take pix when I get around to it. I got Orc war truck, 3 war bikers, and 20 Orc boys. But I split em up and turned 5 komandos. 5 shoota boys, and 10 melee boys. Had enough peices left over to make an extra guy so I made a war boss. Then proceeded to kick my buddies chaos demons asses.

I played most, if not all, of the dawn of war/ war hammer video games. My buddy really really got into it. But we never knew about the mini until like a month ago. I didn't kno they were customizable models. I thought u bought em and just painted pre made models.

Not really Cotto, but I do need to. I've watched all the Youtube videos on it.

Damn it Deslock, when is the next toy skit coming ?
Actually I've been working on this project for almost a year now. I figured rather than just put them up piecemeal, I'd rather wait and put them all up at once.
Right now the only thing that's holding me up is a few of the vehicles.

I have the following vehicles :

    Little bird Heli
    UH-1Y Venom transport Heli
    VdV buggie
    LAV-ad
    M1128
    Humvee
    Quad bike
    M1 Abrams
    Camel.....heh.

What I need to finish is the following:

    Dirt bike
    Apache heli
    Havoc heli
    And the jets.

Weird crap like the Barsuk and such I'm not worried about. Most of the vehicles and figures I'm getting, is from the "Power Team Elite" series. And regrettably, they are mostly only released around the time for Christmas. On E-Bay and Amazon they are hella expensive, they usually sell for about 4X the original selling price.
Which means the Jets are usually retail priced aroung $25.00-$35.00 dollars are going for mad amounts online.

    For example:

    [ame="http://www.amazon.com/Power-Team-Elite-World-Keepers/dp/B00779SH2K/ref=sr_1_73?s=toys-and-games&ie=UTF8&qid=1377661017&sr=1-73&keywords=power+team+elite"]http://www.amazon.com/Power-Team-Elite-World-Keepers/dp/B00779SH2K/ref=sr_1_73?s=toys-and-games&ie=UTF8&qid=1377661017&sr=1-73&keywords=power+team+elite[/ame]

Yeppers, that's right, a jet that was originally priced around $25.00, they're trying to sell for $960.00. Now granted that's extreme, but most of the vehicles are priced waaaay too high. The transport Heli I bought retail for about $17.00, they're trying to sell it online for $88.97. Hell, even the little campfire set I bought for $5.00, they're selling online for $25.00.

I have to wait until I get lucky. I see now that the Apache is now selling for $27.00, that's only $2.00 more than the original selling price, So I might snatch that one up.

For the very life of me, I have absolutely NO idea why these toys are that damn rare and soooo expensive. But I am getting there, just piece by piece, when I can afford it. I had no idea when I started this project, that the prices for these toys for it would literally explode off the chart. But I don't want to use cheap ass toys, or crappy lookalike knock off's. I do have a few knock off's, but they are still workable. And I've still bought a large amount of props, figures, building sets for this project. I'm working on 3 completely different sets for this series.

    DSA Battlefield 3/4
DSA ocean adventure. (No, I'm NOT telling the "official" name yet. ;) )
    DSA RaTix/droid Adventure.

So I do promise you all, I have been busy with this. :)

With Battlefield Friends, they're lucky that they can replicate all these things through computer graphics. I have to find actual real life toy counterparts for them. But it's getting there, I promise.
Which isn't cheap for my broke ass.

Zero, that doesn't make you a "nerd", it means you enjoy wartime tactical strategy games. I love WH40k, because it's like chess, only the pieces get to shoot laser cannons at each other. Hell, my army buddies and myself started playing this waaaay back in 1987.

I don't know if you saw it or not in my hobbies thread, I've been to two Golden Demon Cons, and took fourth place both times. out of literally thousands of miniatures. Which really pissed me off, since the man that did win at one told me after the judging that he truly felt I should've taken first place right to my face. But that's another different "bitter" story.
But Paul Sawyer; if by some bizarre way you ever get to read this...

I WILL ALWAYS DESPISE YOU. :-x

I know I do joke and kid a lot in my posts; but this one I truly feel, and I'm NOT joking.

I currently have an Ultrarmarines Army, Eldar "pirate" army, Ork's, a HUGE imperial guard, Chaos, Tyranid; and even a Sister's of battle army.

And I'm trying to play the vidya game, which I do believe you should try. It's kinda repetitive, but also shooty, chainsword bloody messy fun.
They just messed up on the Ork blood as it should be green, but the game's developers thought that green on green wouldn't show up good, so they made it red.
How the DSA didn't get on this game really suprises me. :

I stopped playing the tabletop game when all the hobby shops started to go out of business, because everyone was interested more in just playing video games, and Gouge, oops, I mean Games Workshop increased their prices by 300%. And that's no joke. It just became too expensive for the Mini's, at least for me.

If you want any painting tips, please feel free to ask me. I used to give many painting classes on painting Mini's, and I'd love to be of some help.
If you want, I can post up some piccy's of some of my Mini's for everyone to see.

My own personal Mini's, they are indeed my pride and joy.
I've been given offers, but I outright refuse to sell them. Ever.

I used to buy and paint Mini's for others to buy thru consignment, and painted groups of others for my customers. There were many times where I made enough money selling and painting Mini's, that it paid my rent.

I can say this with true honesty, without one bit of arrogance nor pride. I really mean this:

I have met and seen many miniature painters as good as myself, but I've never met anyone that I truly feel, or consider, that is better than me.
I'm not saying someone out there isn't better than me. I just haven't met them or seen their work yet. ;)

Damn it, now I'm going to have to post some piccy's. Heh...

But I do mean it Zero, I would love to give you some tips and tricks on painting Mini's. Once you get bitten by the Mini painting bug, it never leaves you. :)

Also, if you get the chance, buy or rent the movie. It rocks.

But I am jaded, I do luv me my Ultrasmurfs. ;)

And the new Halo movie is damn good also. Slow to begin, but overall, pretty damn good.
